Polish prosecutors have extradited to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) ex-chief accountant of the state-owned Ukrspyrt enterprise Serhiy Bezrodny, who is now under arrest, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“Polish prosecutors granted the PGO’s petition for the extradition of Bezrodny, ex-chief accountant of the state enterprise Ukrspyrt to Ukraine for criminal prosecution. The pretrial investigation found that Bezrodny, in preliminary conspiracy with other officials, squandered the funds of the state enterprise for a total of UAH 260,808,631 and, in a conspiracy with a group of people, evaded taxes in the amount of UAH 49,859,541,” PGO spokeswoman Larysa Sarhan has said.

He is suspected of various serious crimes, including planning the assassination of Ukraine’s Interior Minister.
