At yesterday’s government meeting, Volodymyr Groysman announced that he would “grapple” with round timber. Prime Minister started the meeting with the words on the fight against smuggling, in particular, round timber to the EU. More about how Ukrainian forest is going to be saved – in reactions from Opinion.

Volodymyr Groisman stressed that over the past three to four weeks nearly 1,000 train carriages had left the country. According to the Prime Minister, as a rule, it works this way: “Firewood” leaves the country and then abroad, appears high-quality commercial wood – round timber. In order to stop smuggling, Groysman decided to sign an appeal to the General Prosecutor’s Office, to contact the European partners, to report the problem to NABU and even to order Ukrzaliznytsya (Ukrainian railways) to document the export of the wood, photographing each car. I just don’t get, so before those three-four weeks this round timber was untouchable and virgin and no smuggler’s arm have touched it? It’s somehow hard to believe.

MP Ihor Mosiychuk stressed that statement made by Volodymyr Groysman is not actually his initiative. It is just the support of Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko struggle for the preservation of Ukrainian forests and development of woodworking industry. Well, there were no doubts. The party, in general, is unique: cow saviors and panties buyers who even worry about the forest. People with the heart of gold or otherwise.  Mosiychuk also turned to Petro Poroshenko, demanding to sign the “radicals” bill despite the fact that someone from the Presiden’s inner circle opposes it. Eh. It seems that Mosiychuk’s love for emojis fades away forever.

Oleh Lyashko couldn’t keep himself silent. With all his radicalism, he urged the president not to do the same mistakes and sign the legislation that will threaten smugglers with up to 12 years in prison. How active everybody becomes before the election, have you noticed?

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy praised Groysman and government’s decision to combat illegal logging and smuggling of round timber. According to him, Carpathian forests are the treasures of all people and the lungs of Ukraine. Oh my God, Mr. Andriy, it seems to me that I’m in the fourth grade again and telling by heart some poems. It should be more realistic, come on.

However, MP Serhiy Rybalka, instead of greetings, criticized the fact that Volodymyr Groysman decided to turn to the Attorney General only now. By the way, here we have completely different numbers. Rybalka emphasizes that in one day about a thousand wagons are taken out. I recall that Prime Minister expanded this figure to a few weeks. And now, seat and think, whom to believe and who give likes.

And in the end, a few words from the political consultant Mykola Spiridonov. According to him, Volodymyr Groysman may become a new candidate for the presidential election, since he has a better reputation than the current president. Well, what else can I add, only gossips – it’s always interesting and fun, especially from experts. Let’s see who will be right in the end.
