Greek law enforcement agencies detained more than a hundred Ukrainian sailors because they were forced to send illegal migrants to Europe, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

“The Ukrainians are flooded with Greek prisons, and our citizens are falsely invited to work on cruise liners, yachts, and forced forces to send the illegal migrants to Europe through coercion and death, which is why hundreds of Ukrainian sailors were detained by Greek law enforcement agencies,” he said. said the authorized representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights Lyudmila Denisova.

According to information from Denisovaya, there are currently 161 Ukrainians in prisons in Greece. 112 of them were convicted of transporting illegal migrants. “For such illegal work, criminal gangs recruit Ukrainians who are in financial difficulties. Mariners are promised official employment, work under contract. Very quickly, literally, in a few months, they find themselves in Greek prisons … And someone makes a lot of money on this!” – explained Denisov
