Crimean activist Oleksandr Kostenko, released from the Russian colony, along with Ukrainian diplomats crossed the border between Russia and Ukraine and should be in Kyiv in the evening, reports Ukrinform.
Kostenko spent that night at the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow, and upon arriving in Kyiv he would temporarily put him in a hostel. According to the Parliamentary Human Rights Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova, Kostenko will be granted temporary housing in Kiev and the status of the internally displaced person. Kremlin-controlled court in the Crimea in 2015 condemned Kostenko for allegedly causing injury to a member of the Crimean “Berkut” during the EuroMaydan in Kyiv. He served punishment in the Kirov region of Russia. August 3 Kostenko was released.
