The Kherson city court decided to arrest Nikolai Novikov, who is suspected of attacking Katerina Gandzjuk, until October 1 inclusive, writes Ukrainska Pravda.
The court noted that the testimony of his sister Iryna that they rested together at sea on the day of the attack cannot serve as proof of innocence because of their kinship ties. The words of Iryna Kodakova should be checked as part of the pre-trial investigation, the judge said. Therefore, the prosecutor’s request to take Novikov’s custody for 60 days, the court – given the risks – satisfied. Recall that on July 31 in Kherson, the employee of the city council and the activist Katerina Gandziuk was thrown concentrated sulfuric acid at the face.
