26 children were hospitalized as a result of poisoning in a hotel in the Lviv region. This was reported in the press service of the regional administration of the National Police, reports Ukrinform.
“All in all 26 children and one adult were hospitalized in the hospital. The police found out that all of them are residents of the Khmelnytsky region at the age of 10-16 and 25. Law enforcers also found out that they all stayed in the hotel of one of the Pustomyty district’s villages where they dined,” the press service noted.
On this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Article 325 (violation of the rules for combating epidemics) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of this article is up to three years of detention. The police establish the cause of the mass poisoning and conduct a pre-trial investigation.
On the evening of August 6, 17 patients, including 16 children, were placed in the regional Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases at the Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Catastrophe Medicine, with the preliminary diagnosis of food poisoning.
