The patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Irinej, warns the Universal Patriarch Bartholomew of interfering in Ukrainian church matters, as in Macedonian and Montenegrin. In a letter to Bartholomew Iryna convinces that exclusively the Russian Church has a canonical and historic right to church organization in Ukraine, the Ukrainska Pravda reports.

As the reason for sending this letter, the Serbian patriarch calls “the concern of the Socialist-Revolutionary Unity about the unity of the Orthodox Church” after the intervention of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine with the alleged provision of a tomosum – autocephaly – to a local church.

Such a decision, in the opinion of the author of the letter, will also mean unfriendly position in relation to the Russian Church.
