The pardon commission on the territory of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous district denied Oleg Sentsov’s mother in accepting pardons for her son. This is reported by Ukrinform.
“So, to the convicted Oleg Sentsov, it is necessary to file a petition for pardon in the name of the president of the Russian Federation through the administration of the jail of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District,” the commission’s reply on August 21 says.
It states that in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of December 28, 2001, allegedly only the convict himself should apply for pardon to the President of the Russian Federation in writing. It is also specified that the commission has already received a petition from Lyudmila Sentsova, similarly, and she was “also given appropriate explanations”.
