At the opening ceremony of the OSCE’s two-week meeting to review the fulfillment of the obligations of participating States in the human dimension in Warsaw, activists wore white T-shirts with the inscription #SaveOlegSentsov. This is reported by Ukrinform‘s correspondent.
The activists have become one with the Presidium, in which the chairman of the OSCE Permanent Council sits, the representative of Italy to the OSCE Alessandro Azzone, the director of the Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE Ingeborg Solrun Gisladottir, members of national delegations. As reported, in Warsaw, a two-week OSCE meeting began, at which it will be about fulfilling the obligations of the participating States in the field of respect for human rights and freedoms. About 1,500 representatives of governments and civil society from OSCE and Partner countries take part in the meeting.
The purpose of the conference is to review the commitments that the governments of member countries have undertaken in the sphere of observing fundamental human rights and freedoms, democracy, tolerance and opposition to discrimination. In addition, the issue of freedom of the media, the rights of migrants, the overcoming of racism and xenophobia will be raised.
