The press secretary of the president of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, said that he was not aware of the request of Russians convicted in Ukraine about the exchange, written in the name of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. It is reported by the Hromadske.

Peskov said he understood the wishes of Russians convicted in Ukraine to return to their homeland, but at the same time noted that “he does not know about the readiness of the Ukrainian side to take steps to this end”.

“You know, I do not know about it. This time. I understand that the Russians who are convicted and staying in Ukraine want to get back to their homeland, but we also do not know about the readiness of the Ukrainian side to take steps to this”, said Peskov, answering the journalist’s question whether it is known to the Kremlin about the treatment of convicts in Ukraine citizens of Russia to Putin with a request to exchange them for citizens of Ukraine, who are held in Russian prisons.

Already 22 citizens of Russia have appealed to Putin to exchange them for Ukrainians.
