Law enforcement officers who are dealing with domestic violence will now be able to take care of the safety of the victim on the spot. In particular, they were given the right to oblige the offender to drive out of the house of the victim or to prohibit him from contacting the victim, reports Ukrinform.
From now on, law enforcement officers who are dealing with domestic violence will be able to take care of the victim’s safety by immediately issuing an urgent sentence to the offender. Such an order will impose an obligation on the perpetrator to leave the place of residence (stay) of the victim; it will contain a ban on entering and staying in this place; as well as prohibiting the offender from contacting the injured person in any way. Accordingly, legislative innovations will allow immediate elimination of threats to the life or health of the victim, completely protecting the victim from the aggressor.
