Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has praised the growing professionalism and skills of rescuers and noted a significant reduction in the number of emergencies in recent years despite the intensification of the terrorist activity of the Russian aggressor, reported by Ukrinform.

The head of state said this during an event to mark the Ukrainian Rescuer Day at the Mariyinsky Palace in Kyiv on Thursday, the press service of the head of state reported.

“I want to emphasize that this (reduction in the number of emergencies) occurs during the war, during the intensification of the terrorist activity of the aggressor state. This is more evidence that the country is changing and the emergency service is changing,” Poroshenko said.
