OSCE Special Representative for Minsk Donbass talks Martin Saydik believes that the November 11 so-called elections in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions are against the Minsk accords. It was said this yesterday, while he was answering the relevant question of journalists after the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, Interfax.by reports.
“In my opinion, the elections at the occupied Donbass territory do not correspond to either the letter or the spirit of the Minsk treaties,” said Saydik. Earlier, the Special Representative of the US Department of State to Ukraine Kurt Volker said that the autumn elections in the Donbas, declared by pro-Russian militants from the self-proclaimed “DPR” and “LPR”, are illegitimate and violate the logic of the Minsk process. He explained that it was about the occupied territories, where there are no basic security conditions.
