The mission of the International Monetary Fund had constructive discussions with the Ukrainian authorities and was ready to continue to discuss possible financial assistance to the country. This was stated by the permanent representative of the Fund in Ukraine, Yost Ljungman, according to the results of the mission, reported Ukrinform at the IMF Mission in Ukraine.
“Over the past two weeks, the IMF mission has had constructive discussions with the Ukrainian authorities regarding policies and reforms aimed at ensuring macroeconomic stability and growth, as well as on possible financial assistance from the Fund to support such activities,” the IMF representative said. The four-year EFF (Extended Fund Facility) program was approved by the IMF for Ukraine in March 2015. It provided for the allocation of about 17.5 billion dollars. and contained specific conditions for financing. Its action is limited by the time frame – until March 2019.
