President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko wants to increase the number of border guards on the border with Ukraine to stop the transportation of weapons, Belta reports.

Alexander Lukashenko stated this at a meeting with Secretary of State of the Security Council Stanislav Zas and chairman of the State Committee for the Border Guard Anatoly Lappo.

“We will do it where we need it, we decided to strengthen the border with Ukraine.” We see how much there are woes for Belarus today, including arms transfers, we must close the border, not for decent people, but for gangsters, for those who are carrying weapons,” Lukashenko said.

He noted that earlier the Interior Minister had reported to him that he had detained a man with an arsenal of weapons.
