Petro Poroshenko called on Turkish colleague Recep Tayyip Erdogan to assist in the liberation of Ukrainian citizens – political prisoners of the Kremlin, reports Ukrainska Pravda.

This was stated during the meeting between the head of state and the Turkish President in the framework of participation in the UN General Assembly, the press service of the Ukrainian president said. According to the administration of the head of state, Erdogan received a clear signal about the unchanging position in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the non-recognition of Russian occupation of the Crimean territory, as well as the determination to further defense of the of the Crimean Tatar people’s rights.
