From April 2014 to September 2018, in the annexed Crimea, 353 people were punished for administrative involvement in peaceful gatherings, 12 people were prosecuted. This was stated by the “Crimean Human Rights Group”

“The occupational authorities of Crimea considerably strengthened restrictions on the freedom of peaceful assembly on the territory of the Crimean peninsula, illegally using repressive Russian legislation. By persecuting people for peaceful assembly, the Russian authorities violate Articles 10 and 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights that guarantee freedom of expression and peaceful gatherings,” say human rights activists.
