The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has officially informed the Russian authorities of the application of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, who is convicted of terrorism and imprisoned in Russia, the head of the Agora International Human Rights Group, Pavel Chikov, said in social media on Thursday, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

“The ECHR has examined the case of Oleh Sentsov,” Chikov said. According to Sentsov, Russia has violated Article 3 (prohibition of torture) and Article 5 (the right to liberty and security) of the European Human Rights Convention.
