President Petro Poroshenko said Russia plans to actively intervene in the upcoming election campaign in Ukraine. He stated this during a meeting with the new members of the CEC, which was broadcast live on Ukrainian TV channels, Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We already see, from the point of view of the information of our special bodies, and from the point of view of information of our partners, that Russia is going to actively interfere in the election campaign (in Ukraine – ed.) And through the system of misinformation and through the system of falsification of the electoral process, and through hacker cyberattack systems in order to ruin elections,” said Poroshenko.
In this regard, the head of state noted that he expects the members of the Central Election Commission to work efficiently and effectively counteract Russian plans in order to protect the Ukrainian people’s choice.
