Representative of the President in the Verkhovna Rada Irina Lutsenko said that in the coming days, Petro Poroshenko will register a bill, which is proposed to transfer the permanent use of the Ecumenical Patriarch Andreev Church. She reported this during the conciliation council on Tuesday, writes Ukrainska Pravda.
According to her, the president supports the desire to get tomos as soon as possible and, in solidarity with this process, makes a symbolic gesture. “The bill will be registered in a few days, which President Poroshenko proposes to transfer the St. Andrew’s Church to the permanent use of the Ecumenical Patriarch as a symbolic gesture of the fact that St. Andrew once baptized Ukraine, a symbolic gesture of unity with the Mother Church,” Lutsenko said. She added that Poroshenko asks the Verkhovna Rada and all factions to support this bill on the transfer to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of the permanent use of St. Andrew’s Church.
