In Odesa, 16 houses for recreation on the coast were burned down, the fire covered 600 square meters of the recreation area, Hromadske reports.
The fire was put out for about two hours, said Oleksandr Krytskyi, deputy head of the Emergency Response Headquarters in the Odesa region.
According to him, the extinguishing of the fire was complicated by a strong wind and the lack of access to the place. Water was transported and pumped from the distance of 500-700 meters.
Firefighters say that the probable cause of ignition is the careless handling of fire in one of the cottages. There were no injured or dead. During the fire, gas cylinders exploded in some buildings.
