The Verkhovna Rada passed the St. Andrew’s Church to the Ecumenical Patriarchate for the service of worship, religious ceremonies, and processions. The Draft Law on the Features of Using the St. Andrew’s Church at Sofia Kyivska National Reserve on October 18 was supported by 235 MPs, UNIAN reports.

The document states that the St. Andrew’s Church is being transferred to the Ecumenical Patriarchate for the restoration of ties with the Constantinople-mother-church, the elimination of the negative consequences of Russia’s interference in the life of Ukrainian Orthodoxy and “the confrontation with the threats to national security caused by such interference.”
