Ukraine will be one of the 5 NATO Partner countries that will take part in the Trident Juncture training from October 25 to November 7 this year. This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to the deputy chief of staff – the head of the main military affairs department of the Strategic Command for NATO Operations, Odda Ehil Pedersen.
“This is really very extensive training, and Ukraine will be represented by staff officers at headquarters. In total, out of 41 NATO Partner countries, only 5 countries are participating, including Ukraine”, he said.
According to Pedersen, in addition to Ukraine, participation in the exercises will be also taken by representatives of Sweden, Finland, Georgia and Jordan.
It is noted that the NATO Trident Juncture multinational training will last from 25 October to 7 November in Norway, the Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic, including Iceland and the airspace of Finland and Sweden.
About 50,000 soldiers will take part in the maneuvers, including more than 14,000 US Army troops – Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps, as well as about 150 aircraft, Apache helicopters and 60 ships, in particular, the US Navy’s nuclear carrier Harry Truman.
