The Central Election Commission of Ukraine, by its decision on Thursday, postponed the elections in two united territorial communities of the Donetsk region because of the threat of terrorist attacks, reports Ukrainska Pravda.

The Office explained that on October 18 they received a letter from the Donetsk Regional State Administration about the inability to ensure adequate security of citizens due to Russian armed aggression against Ukraine and inability to avoid the terrorist threat during the first local elections in two territorial communities. In this regard, the administration asked “to stabilize the situation” and delay the elections scheduled for December 23.
