The law allows the Ecumenical Patriarchate to constantly use the church free of charge for the performance of worship services, religious ceremonies, ceremonies and processions. As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 18, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law introduced by the president “On the peculiarities of using St. Andrew’s Church in the National Reserve ‘St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv’”(No. 9208).
The representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kyiv Patriarchate, Archbishop of Chernihiv and Nezhinsky Evstratiy (Zorya) explained that the transfer of St. Andrew’s Church to the Ecumenical Patriarchate is needed for the interaction of the Ukrainian Church with Constantinople.
