The United States will impose additional sanctions against Russia in connection with the use of chemical weapons, but Washington should “carefully calculate the effect of these sanctions on national security,” Voice of America reports.

Undersecretary of the State Department spokeswoman Robert Palladino refused to answer the question about when additional sanctions would be imposed. He said it was a “long process” and added that the United States wants to impose sanctions “in full compliance with the law.”
