During the so-called “elections” in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, on November 11, budget officials sent threatening SMS messages and distributed food items to pensioners, UNIAN reports.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Dmytro Gutsulyak, said on a briefing with reference to the Main Directorate of Intelligence.

According to him, in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, under the guise of the so-called “elections of heads of the DNR / LNR and deputies of the People’s Councils of the republics”, the Russian occupation administrations made significant efforts to bring their “puppet regimes” to power.” In addition to large-scale campaigning at polling station locations, allegedly at the expense of the so-called ‘Republican leadership’, sales of food at a reduced cost occurred, in particular: social bread  5 rubles (ordinary value 10 rubles); poultry  55 rubles (the usual cost of 105 rubles). Citizens in need of social protection (pensioners, invalids) at polling stations issued free food kits (cereals, bread, canned food),” he said.
