Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the pro-Russian movement “Ukrainian Choice” said that separate regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions should have autonomy within Ukraine, 112 reports.
Medvedchuk fully supported Russia’s position on the UN peacekeeping mission, which, in their opinion, should only guard the OSCE mission on the compulsory consent of militants.
He stated that in order to “return the Donbas to Ukraine and Ukraine on the Donbas”, “the political will of the Ukrainian authorities” and “direct dialogue with Donetsk, with Luhansk and with Moscow” are necessary.
According to Medvedchuk, he has his own “peace plan”, which provides for a “special status” for the occupied territories.
“I see this special status in providing them with autonomy, the opportunity to create their own government, their parliament, but autonomy as part of Ukraine,” he said.
