The Third Committee of the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted an updated draft resolution entitled “Situation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, Ukraine”. This is reported by Ukrainska Pravda.

In particular, the resolution says that since 2014, the Russian authorities are using torture, do beatings for false testimony in politically motivated cases, and carrying out illegal detentions and arrests of Ukrainian citizens. Also, the document requires the international organizations and specialized agencies of the United Nations to mark in the official documents the Ukrainian peninsula only as “the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine), which are temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation”.
