The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine argues that family ties do not affect the work of the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the OSCE Igor Prokopchuk and do not harm the national interests of Ukraine. This is stated in the response of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to the petition concerning the family ties of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the OSCE, reports Ukrainska Pravda.
“This war spreads on both sides of the front line of friends, relatives, relatives, for many it has become a real tragedy, but everyone makes his own choice and answers,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry states that all of the time since the start of the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine “there was no room for action that could compromise the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the OSCE Igor Prokopchuk, as well as damage the national interests of Ukraine.” “His daily selfless work in the OSCE speaks for himself and deserves a high praise from our friends and partners,” the Foreign Ministry press service reports.
Earlier, the Dzerkalo Tyzhnya newspaper, referring to its own sources, said that Igor Prokopchuk, who has headed the permanent representation of Ukraine with international organizations in Vienna for 8.5 years, is the youngest brother of the candidate for the post of Interpol chief of staff, Major-General of the Russian Police Oleksandr Prokopchuk
