At Independence Square in Kyiv, the police used gas and arrested activists who protested against the opening of the KFC fast-food restaurant in the Trade Unions Building. Lawyer Masi Nayyem was injured, reports Ukrainska Pravda.

“Right now, in the middle of my legal practice when I was protecting my client at Independence Square, special measures (gas cartridge) were used against me by police officers (not the patrolling one),” Nayyem said. The lawyer added that he received burns of eyes and face.
