In Ukraine, during the protests of cars owners of vehicles with EU number plates and their blocking of traffic on roads, the police registered 15 facts of criminal offenses. Most of the violations (11) relate to the blocking of roads. Such facts were registered in Zhytomyr Region, Rivne region, Zakarpattia region, Odessa region, Poltava, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions, reports Hromadske.
There were 2 other criminal offenses committed during the drivers’ protests are related to Article 345 of the Criminal Code – a threat or violence against an employee of a law enforcement agency, it happened in the Rivne region. One offense was registered for a false statement about the threat to citizens’ security or damage to property. It was also registered in the Rivne region. Another proceeding concerns hooliganism in Poltava region.
According to the police, 6,000 people took part in the protest of cars owners who have vehicles with EU number plates (almost 3 500 cars). Law enforcement officers registered 131 cases of traffic blocking.
Recall that on November 20, owners of cars with Euroregistration resumed protests despite the fact that Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill, introducing a simplified formula for customs clearance of cars.
