The Verkhovna Rada has supported the draft state budget for 2019 in the second reading and in general. 240 people’s deputies voted for the decision, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
“A month ago, we presented to the first reading a draft state budget for 2019 and emphasized that it is realistic and balanced, all its expenditures are supported by incomes, the deficit does not exceed the allowable, and the debt burden is reduced. The main challenge during the finalization of the document to the second reading was to keep this balance,” Oksana Markarova, Minister of Finance said in her statement.
According to her, as a result of work with profile committees, budget revenues were increased by almost UAH 18 billion, while the corresponding amount increased spending on priority areas of social and economic spheres.
