Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said Sunday’s incident with Ukrainian ships was “a very dangerous provocation of Kyiv.” He told journalists about this, commenting on the situation in the Kerch Strait, Russian Tass reported.
“This is a very dangerous provocation, which requires special attention and special consideration,” said Peskov.
According to Peskov, the Foreign Ministry of Russia is preparing a detailed statement on the situation in the Kerch Strait, insisting that Ukrainian ships allegedly “violated the Russian state border.”
Press secretary Putin said that he was aware of the journalists’ interest in the Kremlin’s reaction to the incident, opening a press conference dedicated to media givers of the Russian Geographical Society on Monday, but urged him not to discuss it at a press conference because it was devoted to another topic.
“I will not comment on the incident now,” he said.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov said that the current confrontation in relations between Russia and the West is not fatal, but due to the infiltration of tension at the borders of the RF “point of no-return” can be passed.
