The President thanked Western partners for strong words in support of Ukraine after the Russian aggression in the Kerch Strait. However, he stressed that in this situation it is necessary to act, Bloomberg reports.
“We need to increase the presence of NATO in the Black Sea, perhaps also in the Sea of Azov. It would be very good to invite NATO ships to maintain stability.
Because this new kind of war is a hybrid war that includes cyber attacks on all Western democracies, misinformation campaigns, attacks on different countries during the election, an embargo on Ukrainian goods, a stop in the supply of natural gas, and most importantly the use of armed forces against sovereign and independent states, including Ukraine, but not only it,” Petro Poroshenko said.
The president noted that the allegations are very important, but “while Western partners make powerful statements, Putin is acting.” He also called on the West to introduce a new sanctions block against Russia for the situation around Azov.
