The head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine explained that the new united church is ready for constructive relations, not a conflict, reports UNIAN.
The head of the OCU explained that the new united church is confronted with a constructive relationship, not a conflict. “We need to find a mutual understanding, not hostility,” said the bishop. “If they feel love, they will join the Local Church,” he explained.
Metropolitan Epiphanius also said that the Verkhovna Rada’s law on the renaming of religious organizations with the center in an aggressor country meets the expectations of Ukrainians. “The reality must correspond to the essence. Every Ukrainian Orthodox must understand what church he goes to,” he said. According to the Metropolitan, this decision will ease the situation between the churches.
