This is evidenced by the results of a poll conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation in collaboration with the Razumkov Center of Sociological Service, which was held from December 19 to December 25, 2018, reports Hromadske.
Despite a high percentage of readiness for a compromise, only 16 % of respondents agree on any compromises. 17 % of respondents support the conflict resolution option. “Among the residents of Donbas there is much more willingness to go for any compromises for peace (46 %), as well as less support for a violent resolution of the conflict (10 %),” the statement said.
The least respondents, both in government-controlled Donbas and in general in Ukraine, agree with the conduct of elections in the occupied territories on the condition of militants, the amnesty of the “DNR” and “LNR” militants and the formation of the security forces in the occupied Donbas only from local representatives.
Also, the results of the survey indicate that the majority of respondents – 72 % – agree with the statement that it is the war between Ukraine and Russia. In total, 2017 respondents aged from 18 took part in a survey. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3 %.
