The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine does not exclude the abolition of a visa-free regime with Israel if the rights of Ukrainian tourists are systematically violated at the border of this country. This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kateryna Zelenko at a press conference in Kyiv.

She reminded that on February 15 at Boryspil airport 35 citizens of Israel were denied entry to the territory of Ukraine because of lack of sufficient funds or unconfirmed purpose of the visit. In turn, Israel, in protest, detained an entire aircraft from Ukraine with 140 Ukrainian citizens.

“In the future, we will assess the scale and nature of violations of the rights of Ukrainians abroad and the degree of readiness of countries to deal with cases of violation of the law. If foreign governments do not properly deal with the fight against illegal hiring and hiring of Ukrainian citizens, if the rights of Ukrainian tourists and the travelers will be systematically violated, we will review the conditions of travel of citizens, including the expediency of maintaining a visa-free regime for citizens of those countries where the rights of our compatriots systematically violated, “Zelenko said.

She also said that the Foreign Ministry had handed over a note from Israel, stating that the protection of the rights of Ukrainian citizens, including during short-term travel and long-term residence abroad, is a priority for the Ministry and the Ukrainian authorities.
