Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that the head of the pro-government candidate with the help of administrative resources and at the expense of the budget program allegedly tries to buy votes of pensioners from Kyiv, Kyiv region and one more region.
“I will give an example of a criminal case, which is being investigated in Vasylkov, Kyiv region. It’s about bribing the votes… One of the headquarters of the pro-government team employs agitators, they choose a hundred people, usually, the poorest, go to their apartments and ask if they are ready to support the candidate and, if so, they are offering assistance. Thirty out of hundred say, “Yes, we are ready.” These people are recorded, then agitators go to the district council or social welfare with the list and tell the head of the district council to allocate thousand hryvnias to these people, using the means of the program “Turbota”, laid in the budget,” the minister said.
The head of the Interior Ministry claims that such cases took place in the Kyiv region, the city of Kyiv, Odesa and in the Kharkiv region.
