Today, Lina Kostenko celebrates her 89th birthday. The writer that can be named a classic and a symbol for sure. Of course, the network is stuffed with greetings to the author. So, here’s what Ukrainian politicians write about her – let’s take a look in the reactions from Opinion.
For example, Petro Poroshenko described the poetry of the author as frank and sincere, her talent exceptional and versatile. Well, this has not been without a picture with the signature font.
The presidential candidate Anatoliy Hrytsenko also joined the congratulations, stressing that Kostenko has never made compromises with her conscience and loves our country with all her being.
Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko decided to dwell on more personal things. Thus, according to him, during the most difficult times, together with his wife and MP Iryna Lutsenko, they were talking to each other through the mediation of the writer’s poems. It’s about the period when Lutsenko was behind the bars.
However, the leader of the Radical Party Oleh Lyashko did not write long posts. More precisely, he limited himself to two sentences, adding a video where he reads her verse. Well, at least he wasn’t singing.
Actually, it’s their party trait. After all, the People’s Deputy Ihor Mosiychuk had also read the words of Lina Kostenko on the video.
Politician Oksana Bilozir turned out to be a bit wordless too.
Presidential candidate Valentyn Nalyvaichenko described Kostenko’s poetry as “a pure and unique touch to the heart.”
Instead, Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of Batkivshchyna, turned out to be the most “eloquent” (hee-hee). In particular, the candidate for the presidency convinces that Kostenko has never done the wrong thing, give up and trade away her principles, making only what the heart and the conscience were willing.
Although no, an MP Olha Bohomolets turned out to be no less eloquent as well. She says that for her Kostenko is one of the most important figures of the present days and an example of a true state-maker.
Well, it is what it is However, it’s not clear which of these statements by politicians were written on their own and which by their assistants. Love and read Ukrainian literature and save our language. See you!
