The militants transferred 60 prisoners from the prisons of certain regions of the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government. This was announced on March 20 by the Ombudswoman Lyudmyla Denysova on Facebook.
Prisoners will continue serving sentences in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
According to her, in the past three months, 135 prisoners have been transferred to Ukraine from the ORLO, 22 of which have already been released due to the expiry of the sentence.
“4 people, including a woman, among the 60 displaced persons today spent more than 9 years in the detention centres of the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region without a court decision, that is, their guilt was not proved legally,” the ombudswoman wrote.
