National anti-corruption bureau has called allegations by Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko “absurd”, who said to The Hill that they were trying to influence the US presidential election in 2016.

“The statement of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, who publicly admits that the national anti-corruption bureau could affect the US presidential election is not true and is absurd attempt to discredit the independent anti-corruption institution,” was said in the NABU statement.

Bureau indicated that its jurisdiction includes detection and prosecution of Ukrainian officials and not the collection and transfer of evidence of illegal activities of American spin doctor Paul Manafort, who worked with the Party of Regions.
