The Cabinet of Ministers endorsed the proposal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to ban the irregular operations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation after the visit of the pro-Russian MPs Yuriy Boyko and Viktor Medvedchuk to the Russian Federation. The corresponding draft resolution at a meeting of the government was voiced by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
“We made an analysis of the reasons of this flight. Boyko used the loophole in our legislation, and received the approval of the FSB of Russia and by the direct flight ‘Kyiv-Moscow’ got to the negotiation with the prime minister of the state of the aggressor,” Avakov said.
“Therefore, the draft resolution “On amendments to the provisions on the use of Ukraine’s airspace” has been submitted for consideration. The draft resolution made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the purpose of protection of the state security and elimination of possible threats of national security by preventing the irregular operations between Ukraine and the state of the aggressor,” the minister added.
According to Avakov, in compliance with the requirements of the law on sanctions by the decision of the NSDC, a number of airlines of the Russian Federation were applied restrictive measures in the form of limiting the partial or full transit of resources, flights or transportation to the territory of Ukraine, at the same time, according to the minister, the prohibition was not extended on irregular operations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
