The headquarters of the presidential candidate, showman Volodymyr Zelensky, appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to provide the candidate with protection. This was announced at the briefing in Kyiv by the head of the Interior Ministry, Ivan Varychenko.
“In the first round, during the period of campaigning, we secured the protection of nine presidential candidates. Presently, the headquarters of the presidential candidate Zelensky, who will be on the ballots lists during the second runoff, has urged such protection,” Varchenko said.
According to him, the National Police are interacting with all the headquarters of presidential candidates, since the task of law enforcement is to “provide communication with all subjects of the election process”.
