The Central Election Commission requests citizens to join the work of the polling station election commissions, as they lack staff in 33 territorial election districts (TED).
The CEC reminds that April 15 is the last day for the formation of polling station election commissions.
“Today there is a need for your responsible civic position, as the district election commissions encountered an insufficient number of appeals to the polling station commissions, which prevents them from completing the relevant DECs,” – said the Central Election Commission.
These are the following districts:
Dnipropetrovsk region – TED № 26, 27, 28;
Transcarpathian region – TED № 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73;
Kirovograd region – TED № 100, 101, 102, 103;
Lugansk region – TED № 106, 107, 112, 113, 114;
Sumy region – TED № 157, 161;
Kharkiv region – TED № 171, 176, 180;
Kherson region – TED № 183, 184, 185;
Chernihiv region – TED № 206, 209, 210;
city of Kyiv – TED № 216, 217, 220, 223.
It should be noted that there are 33 territorial election districts, while their total number is 200 (the total number of polling stations is 29 989, and the estimated number of voters is 30 306 431).
The polling station commissions are responsible for organizing the vote and counting votes at the polling station.
The DEC is formed by the district election commission on the nomination of presidential candidates. If the number of nominees proposed for election commissions is less than the statutory, the DEC is formed by the TED upon the submission of the chairman of the district council on the basis of the proposals of the members of the DEC.
The CEC emphasizes that everyone can join the election process as a member of the polling station election commission: “All indifferent people can write statements directly in the DEC units”
“If you appeal to you with a proposal to take on the duties of a member of the polling station election commission, we call for support of the electoral process by participating in the work of the PSC in order to exercise the will and obtaining the people elected by the President of Ukraine, and call on Ukrainians to support the democratic election process,” the CEC said.
