Security forces detained seven people from the sabotage intelligence terrorist group of Russia’s special services and another person who contributed to crimes on the territory of Ukraine. This was stated at a briefing on April 17 by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak, Ukrainska Pravda writes.
“SBU ceased the activity of sabotage intelligence terrorist group on the territory of Ukraine, all of them detained and arrested,” said Hrytsak.
He reported that in the morning of April 17, security forces detained another person who contributed to the activity of this terrorist group on the territory of Ukraine.
“In total, since the beginning of 2017, several terrorist groups have been sent to the territory of Ukraine from Russia and the so-called “DPR” to carry out political assassinations, for the elimination of officers of Ukrainian special services,” the head of the SBU said.
“One such group committed a terrorist act on June 27, 2017, which killed General Military Intelligence Maksym Shapoval. In a similar scenario, during an attempt to lay an explosive device under the car of a Ukrainian military intelligence officer, a self-destruct took place on April 4, 2019. As a result of this self-inflicted performer, he, the head of the Russian sabotage terrorist group, received severe injuries,” Hrytsak added.
According to him, law enforcement officials have collected evidence that both terrorist acts are planned, funded, organized by Russian special services.
“These were joint operations of the Federal Security Service of Russia and the military intelligence of Russia,” Hrytsak said.
