In the case of the murder of activist Katerina Handziuk, the Prosecutor General’s Office changed suspicion of alleged perpetrators of an assassination after making a deal on the recognition of guilt. This was announced on April 24 by the Speaker of the Prosecutor General’s Office Andriy Lysenko to Ukrainska Pravda.

“On April 4, 2018, these five suspects filed applications to the procedural supervisor in order to make a deal on the recognition of guilt,” Lysenko said.

“They unconditionally admitted their guilt in committing crimes they were charged, provided true, consistent and complete evidence of events, including indications of their involvement in the crime, as well as the participation of other persons in it,” says the GPU spokesman.
