All graduates of Ukrainian schools from 2021 will take a mandatory maths exam. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych during an hour of questions to the government in the Ukrainian parliament on Friday.
“Since 2021, we plan to introduce a mandatory maths exam for all graduates, and I want to announce this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada today in advance. This means that graduates of the ninth grade this year will be preparing for such an examination,” she said.
Hrynevych explained that the Ministry is guided by the fact that basic math skills are necessary for every person.
At the same time, she stressed that all countries that want to strengthen their innovative potential, introduce a mandatory maths exam.
