The State Department has confirmed that US Ambassador Mari Jovanovic completes her work in Ukraine, and the date of her departure is consistent with the transfer of presidential power in Ukraine. The State Department has called the rotation of the ambassador planned.
“Ambassador Jovanovic completes her three-year diplomatic term in Kyiv in 2019, as planned,” the US foreign ministry said.
As specified in the State Department, the “confirmed departure date” of the diplomat in May is consistent with the process of transferring the presidential power in Ukraine.
“The team at the US Embassy in Kyiv, as well as in Washington, continues to work closely with the Ukrainian government and civil society to strengthen our partnership,” the State Department said.
