Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine elected Natalia Shaptala as a new court chairman. She was part of the Constitutional Court, which adopted the so-called “Yanukovych Constitutional Reform”, which extended the powers of President Yanukovych.
Stanislav Shevchuk, who has been dismissed from office by the chairman of the Constitutional Court, considers his resignation as a crime and promises to address the law-enforcers.
“Today, an unconstitutional coup in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and the seizure of state power by persons who held positions of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine,” Shevchuk said.
The judge believes that his colleagues “have committed a serious criminal offense connected with the overthrow of the constitutional system.”
